Vanilla Polar Bear Milkshake Recipe — Creamy Arctic Shake

Vanilla Polar Bear Milkshake

We recently bought honey in one of those cute honey bear bottles and used it in these delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies with Honey. Stella and Mitch loved the honey bear bottle so much that I decided to repurpose the bottles for a fun drink.

While making the Kids Bake ’em Cookies, we used real honey from a honey bear container. Later, I found mini honey bear syrup bottles at the dollar store — irresistibly cute. I grabbed a few and decided one would make a charming milkshake vessel.

To make a vanilla Polar Bear Milkshake you’ll need a few simple ingredients:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Milk
  • Honey (or honey syrup)

I’ll admit my first job at 15 was at an ice cream shop, so I’m a little proud of my milkshake-making skills. The key to a great milkshake is balancing ice cream and milk — and a touch of honey for flavor. You can use a milkshake maker, blender, or even a spoon and cup if needed. The result will still be delicious.

For the batch shown here I used three large scoops of ice cream. It’s better to make a little extra than not enough — leftovers are never a problem. Add milk to the container until it covers about half of the ice cream. Visually, half of the ice cream should remain above the milk.

Next, add just a couple of drops of honey. Honey is very sweet, so a little goes a long way.

Stella enjoyed her vanilla Polar Bear Milkshake, and Mitch ran off into the yard with his. He returned two minutes later with an empty honey bear bottle — the straw had gone missing, which must be a boy thing.

After emptying the syrup from a bottle, I covered the original label with honeycomb-patterned craft paper to create a cute, reusable container. There are endless ways to decorate these little bottles for parties or gifts.
