Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Halve and pit the avocado, then scoop the flesh into a bowl. Add lemon juice and the minced garlic.
- Mash with a fork until creamy and slightly fluffy. Stir in chopped cilantro and crushed red pepper. Season with salt (and pepper) to taste.
- For an extra-smooth texture, pulse briefly in a small food processor or use an immersion blender. Otherwise, the fork method is quick and easy with minimal cleanup.
- Serve immediately with wraps, burgers, grain bowls, grilled meats or tofu. Store any leftovers in an airtight container with a thin layer of lemon juice on top to reduce browning; use within a day for best flavor.
