Keto Carnivore Bagels: Low-Carb Breakfast Recipe for Busy Mornings

Today we’re making low-carb carnivore bagels using just five simple ingredients—an easy substitute for the classic breakfast sandwich you might miss while following a carnivore or keto approach.

This is one of my go-to, quick and straightforward carnivore recipes.

It’s ideal for a fast breakfast or lunch that fits the carnivore diet, or for anyone who loves bagels and wants a low-carb option.

These keto meat bagels use very minimal ingredients and are clean and simple compared with many keto recipes that call for butter, cream cheese, coconut flour, or gums like xanthan.

This recipe skips all of those extras and stays simple and practical.

What kind of meat should I use?

You can make these bagels with ground pork, chicken, or any ground meat you prefer. For this recipe I used ground beef, which gives a familiar flavor and texture, but use whichever ground meat you like best.

What kind of “flour” works for meat bagels?

I use Carnivore Crisp flour for a convenient, animal-only option, but you can substitute chicken or organ meat flour, or make your own meat flour by dehydrating and grinding cooked meat.

Other options: pork rind panko (use double the amount—4 tbsp instead of 2), or a clean protein powder like beef protein (use about 4 tbsp).

Should I add gelatin?

Beef gelatin is optional, but I found the bagels toast crispier when I included it.

How should I season them?

I use Redmond’s Real Salt, but season however you prefer.

Seasoning ideas:

  • Caraway seeds
  • Poppy seeds
  • Bacon bits
  • Everything bagel seasoning

Carnivore Keto Bagels — Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 4 large eggs (use whole eggs; no need to separate)
  • 1 tbsp beef gelatin (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Carnivore Crisp flour (or substitute options noted above)
  • A couple pinches of salt

How to make keto carnivore bagels

  • Cook ground beef in a skillet and drain thoroughly.
  • Let the cooked beef cool completely; these first two steps can be done a day ahead to save time.
  • Place the cooled beef and the remaining ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until very smooth. The mixture will be quite thick.
  • Grease a 6-well bagel pan and spoon the batter into each well, shaping into bagel forms.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) in a conventional oven or an indoor grill for about 20–25 minutes, until set.
  • Allow the bagels to cool before removing from the pan so they hold their shape.
  • Slice in half and toast in an air fryer or toaster oven until golden brown, or enjoy them as-is.

Macros (per bagel):

Approximately 233 calories, 15.6 g fat, 0.6 g total carbs, and 22 g protein.

Pro tip: Use the same batter to make carnivore-style waffles or a thin pizza crust—adjust baking time accordingly.
