Daily Glow Smoothie Recipe for Radiant Skin and Energy

Wake up, work out, smoothie. This is my morning routine most days, and I genuinely love it. This protein-packed, nutrient-dense smoothie is one of my go-to recipes for glowing skin, steady energy, and overall well-being. I used to make it almost every day, and I believe it helps support a healthy-looking complexion. You should try it at least once.

This one is a definite winner.

SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE

The modern “glazed donut” skin look is everywhere, and I’m all for it. That subtle, lit-from-within glow is the goal, and repeating this smoothie in your routine can help support that effect. Here’s a quick breakdown of the superfood lineup and what each ingredient brings to the table:

  • Blueberries — rich in antioxidants, a good source of vitamin K, and helpful for supporting healthy blood sugar balance.
  • Spinach — packed with iron, vitamins C and E, magnesium, and potassium. It blends smoothly and won’t overpower the taste.
  • Flaxseeds — provide fiber, plant-based protein, and omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Ceylon cinnamon — a mild, sweet cinnamon with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It may help moderate post-meal blood sugar and supports skin repair processes.
  • Cacao — full of antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols that can promote calm and reduce stress.
  • Protein — essential for building and repairing muscle and for providing sustained energy. Choose your favorite protein powder to suit dietary preferences.

WHAT IS CEYLON CINNAMON?

Ceylon cinnamon, often called “true cinnamon,” comes from Sri Lanka and parts of southern India. It has a light tan-brown color and a delicate, mildly sweet flavor. Cassia cinnamon, which comes from southern China, is darker and spicier. Both varieties offer beneficial properties, but Ceylon is milder and a lovely choice for this smoothie.

HOW TO MAKE THE EVERYDAY GLOW-TO SMOOTHIE

For an extra-cold smoothie, freeze your blueberries and spinach the night before or use store-bought frozen produce. Otherwise, fresh from the fridge works fine.

Add unsweetened almond milk, ice, frozen blueberries, frozen spinach, ground flaxseed, cacao powder, protein powder, cacao nibs, Ceylon cinnamon, and coconut oil to your blender. Blend on high until smooth.

Pour into a glass and top with a few cacao nibs or a sprinkle of granola, then enjoy.

ARE HOMEMADE SMOOTHIES HEALTHY TO DRINK EVERY DAY?

Yes—when they’re balanced. A smoothie that includes protein, healthy fats, and fiber can serve as a nutritious meal replacement, snack, or pre/post-workout option. Smoothies can also help picky eaters get more nutrients and greens into their diet.

IS FRESH OR FROZEN SPINACH BETTER FOR A SMOOTHIE?

I prefer frozen spinach: it hides the flavor better, chills the smoothie, and blends smoothly. If you don’t have frozen spinach, fresh will work fine—just add a few ice cubes for chill and texture.

RECIPE SUBSTITUTIONS & QUESTIONS

You can use any unsweetened milk you like; I usually choose non-dairy to avoid added sugars. If you don’t have flaxseed or cacao nibs, you can skip them, but keep cacao powder for flavor and its antioxidant benefits.
